Desperate for a new front door but conscious of the "cowboys" out there we found this Company on the internet. We were very cautious at first but needn't have been. From first contact with Brian to final installation the service was first class. We live in an old house so walls and door frames are not straight. Consequently the installation was not straight forward and went on late into the evening. After a long and arduous day the fitters were still smiling, pleasant and courteous. The result - we now have a good quality front door at a sensible price that is not only smart to look at but also keeps out the wind and rain. We had a particularly tricky problem with our door - our 1934 house is not level and true and our existing front door was so out of plumb I could put my finger in between the door and the frame in parts. A friend had recommended Front Door Shop as she'd seen one of their doors at someone's house. The process of choosing a door was quite straightforward and of course a bespoke door costs significantly more than a stock door shown on their site. My door took quite a bit of craftsmanship to fit it into the frame which was integrated into our house and curved in parts. Brian and his colleague did a very good job of creating a quality, solid feeling door which fits our space perfectly and now lets in light from the glass panel in the top. He was happy to re-use the old hardware from our old door which has matched well. We were given good quality locks and I am very happy with the door. I would recommend if you have a specific installation date in mind that you specify this very clearly at regular intervals as I have my door now when I really didn't want it until September at the end of my build. It is so lovely and I am worried it will get damaged between now and the end of our project, so if you have a specific date in mind you will need to be VERY clear about this rather than just mentioning it at the outset as I did. Having said all that I would still recommend this company as the quality of the work is excellent and follow up service appears to be very good - Brian popped in today to attend to a minor issue which had not been spotted on the installation day. We have a variation of the Tuscany door with plain leadlight glass, painted matte black on the outside and natural oak on the inside, and it looks beautiful.

It was such a pleasure to deal with Brian, and he did a fabulous job with our door, making one to perfectly fit our requirements. It's changed the whole feel of our house for the better. I was amazed how quickly and efficiently the whole process went, and recommend him 100%.

I contacted the Front Door Shop as well as several other specialists when I needed a replacement double front door at my house. Brian from The Front Door Shop came to my house to inspect the requirements and gave me a competetive price and timeline for the installation of some solid Oak double doors and a bespoke Oak Frame. The service I received at every step of the process was exceptional. The fit and finish of the doors and sidelights is brilliant. It is a vast improvement over the modern Aluminium doors that were previously installed. I have to mention that where Brian & The Front Door Shop really excelled was in taking on a job that 3 other specialists had declined due to the complexities of installation (basically my front door is at first floor level situated within a Porch and is reached by a set of stairs) Brian not only took on the job but there was no harm or damage to the surrounding Porch and entranceway, this is where the other specialists had concerns. It is not often, nowadays, to come across a caring and skilled craftsman who takes huge pride in his work as a skilled Joiner. Brian created our lovely new door and was fabulous from start to finish. He gave us progress updates along the way and pictures of the door being made and was great on site. Turned up when they said, did a great job, lovely attention to detail with the mastic matching the grey door frame, quality locks. And the door itself looks just amazing. We approached Brian to commission a custom made front door and glass panel above to restore our Victorian property. We are so happy with the outcome as Brian's craftsmanship is phenomenon. It was a difficult job as our house is so old but they've done it so skilfully. And the aftercare service is amazing also as Brian & Cliff came back a couple more times post installation to adjust the door as it settled throughout the year (due to extreme changes in the weather!). We would definitely use BD Joinery again for our next project.
